Mini Series- Investigations #1-3After Completing a mind map,
I created a mini series of three 5" x 7" artworks concerning my chosen theme of investigation: the techniques and elements of Renaissance art. The first piece I created was of a Renaissance soldier's portrait, and it was made with charcoal and watercolor. The last two pieces, the lady in Renaissance garb and the cherub angel, were created with colored pencil. |
Investigation #5A very distinct theme in Renaissance art was aristocratic life.
Guiding Question- How did Renaissance Artists manage to add elements of background (architecture, people, etc.) into their paintings while still maintaining a focal point? Materials used- Colored Pencils Processes used- Burnishing, creating shadows and light Size- 8" x 11" |

Driving Question #6: How could I take one of my older pieces in colored pencil and make them seem more true to Renaissance style art through a different medium?
Driving Question #7: How did Renaissance artists differentiate between realistic and exaggerated features when making live portraits? (a study of their differences, I’m not doing a live drawing myself)
Driving Question #8: Towards the end of the Renaissance era, how did artists change their techniques?
